Supertech N14 & N18 Forged Steel Conrods
Supertech steel connecting rods are forged in steel in a H beam construction for superior strength while maintaining low weight.
Suitable for use with Supertech forged pistons and Mahle forged pistons in the MINI N14 and N18 engines.
The Supertech con rods are supplied with ARP 2000 high tensile bolts.
Why should you replace the standard connecting rod with the Supertech forged connecting rod?
Essentially for improved strength. The H beam forged alloy construction produces a con rod that is stiffer and stronger than the standard this allows it to handle the higher forces that a tuned engine produces. Higher forces are placed on the engine components at higher RMP's so a stronger con rod make sense when considering a track or fast road car that is run in the higher RPM bands for longer periods. Reducing weight is also important because this reduces rotating mass. A lower rotating mass means faster acceleration and improved possible RPM.
