Darton Sleeves Set For N14 and N18 MINI Engines

The limits for generation 2 tuning are being pushed further all the time. Increased boost pressures associated with high-powered, tuned vehicles means increased cylinder pressures. For MINI N14 owners aiming to push over 350bhp you may suffer from a warped or cracked block, this Darton MID closed deck solution will prevent this from happening allowing you to push more boost and achieve higher horsepower from your N14 1.6 turbo engine.

Lohen can help with fully machining your N14 or N18 block to accommodate the Darton sleeves to give you a Modular Integrated Deck (MID) that is serviceable and individually replaceable.

Darton is at the top of the game when it comes to block strengthening. Darton Sleeves have a huge 130,000 PSI tensile strength compared with a 30,000 PSI tensile strength of a cast iron block. This allows you to run your MINI Cooper S or JCW at higher boost pressures creating more power, reducing the risk of damaging your block.

The Darton Sleeves use a wet sleeve design that offers better cooling over standard open deck designs. The Darton Sleeves feature ‘Swirl Coolant Technology’ for significantly improved heat transfer in the upper cylinder wall area. This improvement in cooling reduces detonation in the combustion chamber which is one of the most common causes of engine failure among high performance, high horsepower engines.

Please Note:

1. Machining of the Darton sleeves will be required to install pistons.

2. A Supertech head gasket is suggested for use with the Daton sleeves to allow optimal coolant flow.
